  • The road to the blues ...

  • ... passes through sheep country ...

  • ... and leads to Rathmore's Woolshed.

  • They came in cars and vans ...

  • ... they stood around the fires ...

  • ... chatting expectantly ...

  • ... while inside ...

  • ... in what is still a working Woolshed ...

  • ... Wahbash Avenue were setting up.

  • FB
  • Into the first bracket ...

  • ... with Deanna Parkinson ...

  • ... Rob Hewer & Ian Readett ...

  • ... Peter Read & Sean Brady ...

  • ... and all together ...

  • ... the dog danced ...

  • ... as did the people.

  • During the break we checked out the rear of the Woolshed ...

  • ... and the other side,

  • the Arrivals shute ...

  • ... and the Departure Lounge ...

  • ... and back outside for a chat.

  • Wahbash Avenue were there in olden times,

  • when people sat in the expensive seats,

  • while Wahbash Avenue shook the place to its foundations.

  • and Deanna crooned.

  • But back in the present,

  • Deanna belted out the end of the set.

  • Just then came a fabulous Hollow Tree sunset,

  • ... so they took a break by the fire ...

  • Naomi Jones segued between the groups ...

  • ... with some of her own jazzy blues originals.

  • As the fires raged along came ...

  • FB
  • ... with their unique southern funky blues.

  • .. featuring the powerhouse voice of Nicole McIntyre ...

  • ... Simon Patterson & Kevin Cooney ...

  • ... Konrad Park & Dan Sulzberger ...

  • MumboGumbo looks good in monochrome as well ...

  • ... in close-up too,

  • Many enjoyed the great food from Van Demons Cafe de Wheels ...

  • ... and a warming fireside chat ...

  • ... before returning to dance ...

  • ... as Nicole ...

  • ... and MumboGumbo shifted up-tempo ...

  • ... the dog returned to the dance floor ...

  • ... along with more dancers ...

  • ... and others simply enjoyed the music ...

  • ... which Nicole ...

  • ... and MuboGumbo provided to their last number.

  • Following Miss Jones' second seque along came Billy Warner ...

  • FB
  • ... with The Real Deal ...

  • ... Simon Patterson & Paul Calverley ...

  • ... Konrad Park & Randal Muir.

  • Billy got right down to the heart of it!

  • In the shadows of the night ...

  • ... and in the light ...

  • ... and they had Billy and the Woolshed jumping.

  • Billy even played using a trusty XXXX bottle.

  • The night ended with a bang, no whimpering here!

  • A great night was had by all!

Once again blues lovers came to Rathmore for our third gig, held this time in the old Woolshed. The weather was cool and fires outside the doorways added to the warmth of the occasion.

The music started shortly after 4pm with Wahbash Avenue again providing characteristic up-tempo blues featuring the wonderful voice of Deanna Parkinson.

While the bands changed over Miss Jones Plays provided a solo bracket of largely original numbers. The came Nicole McIntyre with MumboGumbo with their more funky style.

Finally Billy Warner - The Real Deal turned up the volume and the energy energy blues to see the evening out at 12:30am.
